Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, warned of a “crushing response” from Tehran to any “foolish” move against the country. He made these comments in response to U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham’s accusations and threats against Iran on the social platform X. Graham had accused Iran of supporting Palestinian resistance groups and threatened attacks on its oil refineries and infrastructure. Kanaani emphasized that those who threaten Iran must understand the legal and international consequences of their actions. He stated that Iran has always strongly defended its national security and people’s rights.
Kanaani highlighted that the recent military operation by Hamas was in response to Israel’s actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian people. He also pointed out that U.S. support for Israel’s arms and finances directly implicates Washington in Israel’s actions against Palestinians. Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations clarified that Iran is not involved in Hamas’ military operation against Israel but firmly stands in solidarity with the Palestinian nation. They stated that Hamas’ actions are a legitimate response to decades of Israeli occupation. The recent conflict between Hamas and Israel has resulted in significant casualties on both sides.
