Intangible Cultural Heritage Knowledge Sharing Event Held at Brainworks International School

The “Intangible Cultural Heritage Knowledge Sharing ” ceremony, jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar and China Media Group, was held at Brainworks International School. The event welcomed over 300 participants, including representatives from the Yangon Region Youth Affairs Department, GESC Chinese Language School, Myanmar International Education Center (MIEC), and the Eastern Language and Business Center (ELBC).

Mr. Li Qianguo, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, introduced various aspects of intangible cultural heritage such as Chinese New Year traditions, opera, music, calligraphy, and Tai Chi. During his address, he expressed his hope that these heritage elements would serve as a vital bridge to strengthen cultural exchange and deepen the friendship between the peoples of China and Myanmar. Complementing this introduction, China Media Group reporter Ms. Zhang Xiaoning provided a detailed explanation of the “24 Solar Terms,” illustrating how traditional heritage remains closely connected to daily modern life.

Daw Thandar Saw, Director of the Yangon Region Youth Affairs Department, also delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the event. She noted that the “Intangible Cultural Heritage Knowledge Sharing” activity significantly enhances the cultural literacy and international perspective of young people. Furthermore, she emphasized that such initiatives support mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among diverse cultures.

The ceremony featured a vibrant series of performances, including traditional drumming, singing, dancing, and Wushu martial arts. Attendees also participated in an engaging Q&A session and explored an exhibition of high-tech products from Hikvision, both of which drew significant interest from the audience.
