At the Guangdong Intelligent Robotics Institute, a bright yellow AI-powered underwater robot is making waves with its agile, omnidirectional movement and advanced detection capabilities. Designed for tasks like underwater facility inspections, it can move vertically, horizontally, turn, and hover steadily—ideal for precise, long-duration operations up to 400 meters deep and 1,000 meters in range.
General Managing Director Hu Gangyi noted the robot’s ability to overcome traditional underwater work challenges, boosting both efficiency and safety. He also credited the Greater Bay Area’s strong industrial and financial support for accelerating the robot’s development and commercialization.
