Highlights as the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games open in Beijing

The second World Humanoid Robot Games officially opened on Saturday evening at Beijing’s National Speed Skating Oval, bringing together 2,056 robots from 666 teams across 16 countries for a five-day competition featuring 51 events. The opening ceremony highlighted advanced robotic capabilities through synchronized performances—including 80 Booster T2 robots spelling out “BEIJING” and routines by Tiangong and Galbot entries—alongside musical collaborations with human musicians. Ahead of the ceremony, domestic robots set notable athletic benchmarks, with one clocking 9.39 seconds in the 100-meter dash to surpass Usain Bolt’s record and another clearing 2.88 meters in the standing high jump. The event also featured interactive demonstrations where humanoid robots played tennis, table tennis, and soccer against prominent Chinese sports stars. Credit : CGTN
