Hamas says ‘fully ready’ for power handover procedures

Hamas announced it is ready to hand over administrative powers to a new 15-member Palestinian technocratic committee to govern Gaza after the war, aiming for a smooth transition and continuity of essential services. The move is part of the Gaza peace plan and emphasizes Palestinian rights and sovereignty. The committee began work in Cairo, focusing on humanitarian issues, after delays caused by Israeli obstruction. Violence continues in Gaza, with three Palestinians killed on Monday and reports of Israeli airstrikes, shelling, and home demolitions. Since the October 2025 ceasefire, at least 465 Palestinians have been killed, bringing the total death toll since October 2023 to over 71,500.
