Hamas said it is ready to discuss releasing all hostages if the war in Gaza ends, Israeli forces withdraw, and an independent Palestinian committee is formed to govern the territory. The group confirmed it had received U.S.-backed ceasefire proposals through intermediaries and stressed the need for Israel’s clear commitment to any deal.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that Israel had accepted his terms and warned Hamas this was his “last warning.” An Israeli official said the government is seriously considering the proposal, described as Trump’s plan.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, the deal would see Israel halt its offensive on Gaza City. In return, all 48 hostages – about 20 believed alive – would be freed on the first day of the truce in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners. Trump would mediate follow-up talks on ending the war, with the ceasefire in place during negotiations.
