Firefighters in southern Greece have made significant progress in controlling a deadly forest fire that has been burning for four days in the Corinthia region of the Peloponnese. The fire, which has killed two people and damaged 6,500 hectares of rugged terrain, is now receding. The blaze was reportedly started by a local beekeeper, who accidentally ignited it while harvesting honey. Over 570 firefighters, supported by aircraft from Italy and Croatia, are working to fully extinguish the fire. Another blaze has broken out in the nearby Kalavryta area.
