An expert at the Boao Forum for Asia 2026 said that as the global economy becomes more uncertain, the voices of countries in the Global South are increasingly important.
Zhang Donggang of Renmin University of China highlighted that the rise of the Global South is an irreversible trend and called on these countries to play a stronger role in promoting cooperation and harmony among civilizations. He also emphasized the role of education in shaping the future.
The forum, held in Hainan under the theme of shared development and cooperation, has brought together around 2,000 participants from over 60 countries, along with extensive international media coverage.
