China Media Group (CMG) has partnered with five major global news alliances to promote its 2025 Spring Festival Gala ahead of the Chinese New Year. The gala, recognized by Guinness World Records as the most-watched TV variety show, will be featured on platforms of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, the Arab States Broadcasting Union, the African Union of Broadcasting, the European News Exchange, and the Latin American Union of News Agencies, reaching over 300 media outlets in 169 countries.
As the first gala since Chinese New Year was added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, this year’s event promises to celebrate the Year of the Snake with global audiences. Behind-the-scenes footage, rehearsals, and highlights will be shared, offering viewers worldwide a glimpse into Chinese traditions. Leaders of the news alliances also expressed their hopes for stronger future collaboration with CMG.
