World leaders met in Belém, Brazil, on Thursday for a two-day climate summit ahead of the UN COP30 Conference. Host President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva urged urgent global action, warning that temperatures have already risen more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and that the world can no longer ignore scientific warnings.
