On April 26, the Yangon finals of the Global Chinese Recitation Competition were held in Yangon, co-organized by the Chinese Language Education Foundation of China, China Media Group (CMG), the China Cultural Center in Yangon, and Myanmar BoWen School.
Over 100 attendees, including representatives from the Embassy of The People’s Republic of China in Myanmar, Yangon University, the Myanmar-China Friendship Association, local Chinese-language schools, and the contestants themselves, gathered to watch the event.
At the ceremony, it was announced that the program Reciting a Millennium of Pagoda Friendship, produced by CMG, was officially launched. The winning contestants will take part in the program’s recording as “Junior Ambassadors of Pauk-Phaw Friendship.”
The program will feature selected outstanding works of Chinese and Myanmar literature, recited and interpreted by young people from Myanmar.
Exceptional youths from various Chinese-language schools across Myanmar came together, using their voices as brushes and recitation as an expression of emotion, to carry forward Chinese culture and strengthen bonds through the art of recitation, infusing lasting youthful energy into the deepening “Pauk-Phaw Friendship” between China and Myanmar.
