Germany’s data protection commissioner, Meike Kamp, has called on Apple and Google to remove the Chinese AI startup DeepSeek’s app from their stores in Germany over alleged data privacy violations, claiming it illegally transfers user data to China. Google is reviewing the request, while Apple has not responded. In contrast, China strongly denies these allegations, emphasizing its robust data protection policies.
