French President Emmanuel Macron has appointed 34-year-old Gabriel Attal as the new prime minister, making him the youngest head of government in France. Macron expressed confidence in Attal’s energy and commitment to implement the rearmament and regeneration project. Attal previously served as the spokesperson for the government of former Prime Minister Jean Castex from 2020 to 2022. He later became the minister delegate for the budget in former Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne’s government in 2022 and has been serving as the minister of national education and youth since July 2023.
