China’s rapidly growing services trade is increasingly driven by technology and knowledge-based industries, from AI and cloud computing to smart education. In the first seven months of 2026, China’s services trade reached about $656 billion, with knowledge-intensive services accounting for more than half of its exports.
Chinese AI models and technology are now being used internationally, including in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, while AI-powered education tools are helping schools in countries such as Indonesia. These developments will be highlighted at the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services in Beijing, where companies and organizations from around the world will showcase innovations in areas including AI, digital healthcare and financial technology.
