Frequent strikes on Kyiv continue after US envoy visit

Kyiv is experiencing a record number of air raid alerts, with residents now taking shelter around 10 times a day on average. Russia’s increased daytime attacks and the use of faster drones have disrupted schools, businesses and public transportation across the Ukrainian capital.

Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described talks with US envoys as productive, with discussions focusing on air defense and winter support. However, he said he expects the fighting to continue through the winter, as major disagreements between Russia and Ukraine—particularly over territory—remain unresolved.

Despite diplomatic efforts, both sides continue launching attacks. Recent Russian strikes killed and injured civilians in several parts of Ukraine, while Ukraine carried out drone attacks on Russian territory, including strikes on energy and oil-processing facilities. Credit : CGTN
