Foreign Ministry: China to conditionally resume aquatic product imports from some regions of Japan

China announced it will conditionally resume imports of aquatic products from certain regions of Japan that meet its regulatory standards. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that the decision follows Japan’s acceptance of international and Chinese monitoring of the Fukushima nuclear wastewater discharge. After multiple consultations, Japan pledged to take visible, credible steps to ensure the safety and quality of its seafood. China’s decision is based on scientific evidence and ongoing monitoring data. Authorities will continue strict oversight and will reimpose restrictions if any safety risks are detected.
