Foreign leaders extend best wishes for Chinese Lunar New Year

Foreign leaders extended warm wishes to the Chinese people and overseas Chinese worldwide as they celebrated the Chinese Lunar New Year, marking the Year of the Dragon. French President Emmanuel Macron, Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, and Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic were among those who conveyed their greetings, expressing hopes for prosperity, innovation, and strengthened relations.

Fijian Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica emphasized the enduring bond between Fiji and China, while Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs Lars Lokke Rasmussen highlighted the dragon symbolizing leadership and prosperity, expressing a desire to advance Danish-Chinese relations.

UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili and Executive Director Natalia Bayona celebrated the Year of the Dragon, emphasizing its alignment with the values of ambition, prosperity, and good fortune, which resonate with the tourism sector. ICESCO Director General Salim AlMalik sent a congratulatory letter, expressing joy in celebrating the Lunar New Year with Chinese friends.
