Football: Ronaldo breaks Saudi League’s single-season scoring record

Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr ended his first full Saudi Pro League season with a bang, setting a new record for the most goals scored in a single campaign. The 39-year-old Portuguese star netted a brace in his team’s 4-2 victory over Al Ittihad on the final matchday, bringing his season tally to 35 goals. This surpasses the previous record held by Abderrazak Hamdallah. Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in January 2023, has scored a remarkable 64 goals in 69 games across all competitions since then. Al Hilal clinched the title with a 34-game winning streak, setting a new world record for a Saudi top-tier team. Coach Jorge Jesus credited the team’s talent and unity for their exceptional season.
