Flooding in northern Thailand, particularly in Chiang Mai, has forced residents to seek higher ground. The Elephant Nature Park, which houses 3,000 rescued animals including 125 elephants, faced severe flooding after heavy rains. Efforts to evacuate the animals, including elephants, dogs, and cats, were challenging due to the rising water. One blind elephant struggled to keep up during the evacuation but was guided by others. More rain is expected, and park founder Saengduean “Lek” Chailert described the floods as the most severe the park has ever experienced.
