The UN and its partners have vaccinated over 560,000 children under 10 against polio in Gaza, completing the first round of an emergency campaign. Over 112,000 children were vaccinated in northern Gaza during the final phase. The second round is planned for four weeks later. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that 22,500 people in Gaza have life-changing injuries requiring long-term care. Gaza’s health system is severely strained, with only 17 of 36 hospitals partially operational due to conflict. Additionally, recent Israeli operations in the West Bank have displaced families and raised concerns over excessive use of force.
