The FIFA World Cup 2026 has drawn record-breaking interest, with more than 150 million ticket requests from fans in over 200 countries halfway through the Random Selection Draw. FIFA said the tournament is already more than 30 times oversubscribed, showing unprecedented global demand.
Set to run from June 11 to July 19, 2026, the World Cup will be the largest ever, hosted across 16 cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, with 48 teams playing 104 matches. FIFA President Gianni Infantino called the response historic and said it reflects football’s power to unite people worldwide. FIFA also noted that most World Cup revenue will be reinvested into developing football globally.
