Extreme weather batters Europe and the US to devastating effect

A series of extreme weather events is affecting Europe and the United States, bringing severe wildfires, droughts, and record-breaking temperatures. In France, international firefighting teams, including crews from Ukraine, are helping contain a massive wildfire in the Gironde region, while Germany’s Rhine River has fallen to its lowest recorded level, disrupting transportation and trade.

The United Kingdom is also experiencing one of its driest summers on record, with water shortages affecting agriculture, wildlife, and public health. In the United States, firefighters continue to battle a large wildfire in Utah, where thousands of residents have been ordered to evacuate.
