Experts: Xi’s state visit to inject new momentum into China-Egypt ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping returned to Beijing after attending the SCO Summit in Kyrgyzstan and completing state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt. His visit to Egypt, which marks 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, was widely seen as an opportunity to strengthen the China-Egypt partnership.

The two countries signed more than 20 cooperation agreements covering areas such as trade, investment, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, digital development and tourism. China-Egypt trade also continued to grow, reaching about $14.16 billion in the first seven months of 2026.
