Experts say Xi-Biden meeting sets tone for stable ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping met U.S. President Joe Biden in Lima, Peru, to discuss China-U.S. relations. Xi outlined seven points for cooperation and highlighted four non-negotiable “red lines” for China: the China Taipei issue, democracy and human rights, China’s political system, and development rights. Both leaders agreed on fostering stable and peaceful relations despite differences.

Experts emphasized the meeting’s significance amid global tensions and U.S. political changes. The dialogue sets a foundation for bilateral stability as Trump prepares to assume the presidency in 2025. Xi stressed the need for cooperation in trade, health, climate change, and global issues, signaling positive prospects for global stability.
