A Chinese medical expert team has met with officials at the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s National Institute of Biomedical Research to discuss cooperation in responding to the country’s ongoing Ebola outbreak.
Both sides exchanged views on outbreak control priorities, including laboratory testing, case management and prevention measures. Congolese officials welcomed the Chinese support, saying the country still faces major challenges despite past experience in dealing with Ebola, while the Chinese side pledged practical assistance to strengthen local response capacity.
