European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Beijing on Thursday for the 25th China-EU Summit, which marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union. They will meet with President Xi Jinping and jointly chair the summit with Premier Li Qiang.
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, China-EU relations are at a “critical juncture,” facing both new challenges and opportunities. The summit aims to strengthen strategic communication, deepen dialogue, and expand cooperation, benefiting both sides and the global community.
