Chinese-Finnish relations continue to grow as Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo visits Beijing, highlighting more than 75 years of cooperation in science, technology, and green development. The two countries have built strong innovation ties through platforms like the China-Finland Joint Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation, innovation hubs in China, and events such as the Slush startup conference. Joint projects have advanced clean energy and sustainability, including smart low-carbon energy demonstrations in Guangdong and geothermal heating in Henan, as well as the “Beautiful Beijing” air quality initiative. In 2024, China and Finland released a joint action plan for 2025–2029, prioritizing low-carbon development, circular economy, and climate solutions, while new partnerships in AI, robotics, and industrial innovation continue to deepen bilateral cooperation.
