North Korea (DPRK) will send 5,000 military builders and 1,000 deminers to help Russia rebuild its western Kursk region, which was damaged by Ukrainian attacks. This announcement came after a visit by Russia’s Security Council chief, Sergei Shoigu, who met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for the second time in two weeks. Both sides described the talks as friendly and agreed to continue deepening cooperation. The support was framed as a gesture of “fraternal assistance” from North Korea, and the two leaders discussed both immediate and long-term collaboration based on recent exchanges between their countries.
