Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, declared that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) will never reverse its status as a nuclear weapons state, regardless of international pressure. Her remarks, reported by state media KCNA, were a response to a recent joint statement by the U.S., South Korea, and Japan reaffirming their commitment to the DPRK’s denuclearization.
Kim emphasized that North Korea’s nuclear status and strong deterrent are responses to external threats and are irreversible, regardless of denial or pressure. The DPRK has continued developing nuclear weapons since its first test in 2006, despite ongoing UN sanctions.
