DPRK fires several cruise missiles toward the western waters

North Korea launched multiple cruis missiles towards western waters, according to South Korea’s military. The launch occurred around 4 a.m. and is part of a series of recent missile tests and military exercises by North Korea. In response, South Korea imposed sanctions on five North Korean individuals and one company. Tensions also escalated with North Korea conducting a simulated nuclear strike exercise on South Korean targets, drawing criticism. Joint annual exercises between South Korea and the U.S. recently concluded, prompting North Korea to fire ballistic missiles in protest against the deployment of U.S. bombers.
