Donald Trump Jr. takes witness stand in New York civil fraud trial

Donald Trump Jr., eldest son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, testified in a New York civil fraud trial, accusing the family business of inflating asset values. He is an executive vice president at the Trump Organization. The trial, brought forth by New York Attorney General Letitia James, alleges that the Trump family and their businesses inflated assets to secure better loan terms.

Trump Jr. denied any wrongdoing. He, along with his younger brother Eric Trump, took over management of the company when their father became president in 2017. Trump criticized Judge Arthur Engoron, who is overseeing the case, on social media platform Truth Social. The trial is one of several legal challenges facing Trump as he considers another presidential run. He is under a limited gag order and has been fined for attacking Judge Engoron’s clerk. Eric and Ivanka Trump are expected to testify next.
