The “Diamond Jubilee Myanmar-China Friendship Music Concert” was held on June 13 at MRTV in Yangon, celebrating 75 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The concert was broadcast live nationwide on MRTV channels and drew an audience of over 100 invited guests.
Among those attending were Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia, Minister Counselor Dr. Zheng Zhihong, and senior officials from both countries. Representatives from various sectors also joined the evening of music and celebration.
The concert featured well-known Myanmar artists and orchestras performing a selection of popular Myanmar-Chinese songs. Their heartfelt performances created a warm and festive atmosphere, symbolizing the deep friendship and cultural connection between the two nations. The blend of familiar tunes from both countries resonated strongly with the audience.
As the evening came to a close, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn and Ambassador Ms. Ma Jia personally thanked the performers and joined them for group photos, showing their appreciation for the artists’ efforts in promoting friendship through music.
In addition to the cultural exchange, the concert also included a gesture of support. The China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar donated 1,500 bags of cement to the Ministry of Information to assist with post-disaster reconstruction work.
