Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez have condemned the latest US sanctions, accusing Washington of intensifying economic pressure on the country.
The criticism came after the United States imposed sanctions on 10 Cuban entities, including the Ministry of Tourism, as part of the Trump administration’s “maximum pressure” campaign. Diaz-Canel said the measures were aimed at damaging Cuba’s economy, while Rodriguez argued they would further impact the Cuban people’s livelihoods.
The latest sanctions target Cuba’s tourism sector, one of the country’s main sources of foreign exchange, following the US oil blockade introduced earlier this year.
