Construction has begun on a large solar power station in China’s Sichuan Province. The Zhalashan station, with a capacity of 1.17 million kilowatts, aims to enhance clean energy development. Located at high altitudes, it’s set to be connected to the grid by 2025. The project, costing over $823 million, is expected to annually reduce CO2 emissions by 1.8 million tonnes and save 650,000 tonnes of coal. This initiative aligns with China’s goal to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
