The Communist Party of Vietnam has nominated Minister of Public Security To Lam as the next president of Vietnam and National Assembly (NA) permanent vice chairman Tran Thanh Man as the assembly chairman, as reported by the Vietnam
News Agency on Saturday. Both nominees are current members of the Politburo. To Lam, 67, has served as the public security minister since April 2016, while Tran Thanh Man, 62, has been the NA permanent vice chairman since April 2021. The National Assembly, Vietnam’s legislative body, is set to vote on these nominations in its upcoming session starting on Monday.
