Colombia is battling 18 wildfires across four departments as El Niño brings dry conditions and fuels the flames.
The worst-hit area is Tolima, where more than 20,000 hectares have burned over the past 26 days, threatening farms, homes and power infrastructure. Emergency crews, soldiers and local residents are working to contain the fires, while authorities are calling for more air support.
Two people have also been arrested over suspected criminal activity linked to some of the fires. Officials warn the wildfire crisis could continue until March 2027. Credit : CGTN
