China Media Group (CMG) has issued a copyright protection statement ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reaffirming its exclusive broadcasting and sublicensing rights for the tournament in mainland China.
CMG said it has authorized selected platforms to stream and broadcast matches legally, while warning that any unauthorized use, redistribution, or commercial exploitation of World Cup content will be strictly prohibited. The broadcaster also outlined enforcement measures against piracy, including legal action against entities using World Cup footage, signals, or branding without permission.
