China Media Group (CMG) announced innovative highlights for the upcoming 2024 Spring Festival Chinese Opera Gala during a press conference. The gala features 11 creatively unique programs, utilizing various performance spaces, including the main venue and an ancient Chinese theatrical stage. It adopts an immersive theatrical format to create an engaging atmosphere for close viewing, similar to a small theater. The event will continue with on-site recording in Deyang City, Sichuan Province, and showcase artists and young performers from over 60 Chinese theater troupes, presenting more than 20 traditional Chinese opera genres. The gala is set to premiere on February 11, the second day of the Chinese Lunar New Year, at 8:00 PM on CMG’s channels CCTV-1 and CCTV-11, as well as on platforms such as the CMG video platform Yangshipin and CCTV.com.
