China Media Group (CMG) announced its copyright protection measures for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, taking place from July 26 to August 11. CMG holds exclusive media and sub-licensing rights for the Games in the Chinese mainland and Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
Authorized platforms include Migu, Douyin, Kuaishou, and Tencent for video content, while television broadcasts will be available on select channels from Beijing Radio and Television Station, Shanghai Media Group, and Guangdong TV Sports Channel. CMG will also collaborate with China Film Group Corporation for live theater screenings.
Unauthorized use of Olympic content, including broadcasts and video, is prohibited across all media platforms in the Chinese mainland and MSAR. CMG emphasized that no organization or individual may exploit the Games’ content without authorization, and they are launching a special campaign to enforce copyright protection. Legal measures will be taken against infringements and unfair competition, with thorough investigation and enforcement of legal responsibilities.
