Deadly clashes between Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continued for a week in Nyala, South Darfur’s capital. Exact casualty numbers remain undisclosed, but humanitarian conditions are dire, with hospitals overwhelmed and disrupted communications hindering aid efforts. The Nyala Emergency Room Initiative (NERI) is striving to provide necessities, but resources are scarce. Both sides, SAF and RSF, blame each other for starting the clashes. The conflict, ongoing since April 15, has led to thousands of deaths and injuries in Sudan.
