Chinese vice president meets EU foreign policy chief in Beijing

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Josep Borrell, the high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy, in Beijing. Han emphasized that China and the EU share more consensus than differences and have extensive cooperation in various areas like economy, trade, technology, culture, and climate change. He highlighted the 20th anniversary of the China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership and the potential for further development. Han expressed China’s willingness to enhance dialogue, mutual understanding, and trust with the EU for the steady growth of their relations. Borrell acknowledged China’s significant role as a great country and praised the global benefits of China’s modernization efforts. He hoped that the visit would strengthen EU-China relations and ensure the success of the leaders’ meeting later in the year.
