China’s men’s and women’s teams both opened their campaigns at the FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Warsaw with one win and one loss on Monday. The Chinese women’s team, featuring Li Wenxia, Li Yuyan, Wang Lili and Zhang Zhiting, began with a 21-14 defeat to reigning Olympic champion Germany but quickly bounced back with a convincing 21-12 victory over Italy. The men’s team also finished the day 1-1, opening with a strong 22-14 win against Japan, led by Zhang Dianliang’s impressive performance of 11 points and 11 rebounds. However, China was unable to overcome defending Olympic champion the Netherlands in its second game, falling 22-10. Both Chinese teams remain in contention for the knockout rounds, with the women set to face the Philippines and Latvia, while the men will take on New Zealand and Germany in their remaining pool matches.
