Senior Chinese leaders on Thursday attended group deliberations with provincial delegations at the fourth session of the 14th National People’s Congress in Beijing. Premier Li Qiang met deputies from Yunnan Province and noted that 2026 marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), calling for proactive and practical measures to address growing external uncertainties and domestic reform challenges.
Top legislator Zhao Leji joined deputies from Sichuan Province, urging solid implementation of development plans and the building of a modern industrial system while contributing to a unified national market. Meanwhile, top political advisor Wang Huning met with lawmakers from Guizhou Province, calling for the development of new quality productive forces, stronger integration of technological and industrial innovation, and continued rural revitalization through green development.
Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, speaking with deputies from Liaoning Province, emphasized the importance of genuine, high-quality and sustainable growth, as well as greater self-reliance in science and technology. Anti-corruption chief Li Xi, meeting lawmakers from Fujian Province, called for stronger governance standards and intensified efforts to eliminate the conditions that enable corruption.
Vice President Han Zheng, during discussions with deputies from Shandong Province, urged efforts to secure a strong start to the new five-year plan, respond to external challenges and deepen reform and opening up to sustain China’s high-quality development.
