Chinese FM calls on Middle East, Gulf parties to resume dialogue, negotiation

During talks in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah that de-escalating the critical situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region is the top priority, urging parties to return to dialogue and negotiation. Marking the 55th anniversary of bilateral ties, Wang expressed China’s desire to strengthen the China-Kuwait strategic partnership and thanked Kuwait for supporting China’s core interests. In response, Jarrah reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm adherence to the one-China principle, expressed appreciation for China’s long-standing support, and pledged close cooperation with China to restore regional security, stability, and maritime safety.
