Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Thai and Cambodian counterparts on Thursday in Anning, Yunnan, to address the ongoing border conflict between the two countries.
Wang said both sides want to end the dispute, resume dialogue, and improve relations, stressing China’s support for rebuilding trust, restoring cooperation, and implementing the ceasefire reached by the Cambodia-Thailand Boundary Committee. He also encouraged ASEAN involvement, called for reopening border crossings, and offered Chinese assistance such as mine clearance.
Cambodia’s Prak Sokhonn and Thailand’s Maris Sangiampongsa thanked China for facilitating the talks, reaffirmed their commitment to peace, and pledged to resolve disputes through dialogue. The three ministers agreed to maintain flexible communication to manage tensions.
