China’s top political advisor urges uniting compatriots at home, abroad for national reunification

China’s top political advisor, Wang Huning, has emphasized the importance of unity among Chinese both domestically and abroad, firmly opposing “Taiwan independence,” and working towards the reunification of the nation. Wang, a prominent member of the Communist Party of China, made these remarks during a meeting of the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification, where he was elected as the council’s president. He praised the council’s efforts in opposing separatist activities and promoting peaceful reunification, urging them to implement the Party’s policies on the China Taipei. The meeting also saw the election of new leadership for the council.
