Chinese and U.S. officials held “in-depth, candid, and constructive” economic and trade talks in Stockholm, following up on the June 5 phone call between their presidents. Li Chenggang, China’s international trade representative, stated that both sides recognized the importance of maintaining a stable and healthy economic relationship.
The discussions covered macroeconomic conditions, progress on previous agreements, and key trade concerns. Notably, both countries agreed to extend the pause on reciprocal tariffs—24% duties imposed by the U.S. and China’s countermeasures.
The two sides committed to maintaining close contact and timely communication to support the continued stable development of China-U.S. trade relations.
