China’s railway network is expected to handle 17.8 million passenger trips on Saturday, the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, according to the national railway operator. To accommodate the travel surge, 1,029 additional trains have been added. On Friday, 15.78 million passengers were transported smoothly and safely. Popular destinations include Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Zhengzhou. Railway authorities are boosting capacity, improving station services, and offering cultural activities to enhance the travel experience. Around 80.5 million trips are expected during the five-day holiday travel period.
