The 2024 Badminton World Federation (BWF) season is set to kick off with the Malaysian Open on January 9, 2024. The Chinese national badminton team, aiming for all five gold medals at the Paris Olympics in 2024, has been training extensively. President Zhang Jun praised the team’s resilience in 2023, highlighting comeback victories and the rise of young players. Challenges include improving players’ mindsets, gaining experience, and addressing performance consistency and injuries. Zhang expressed confidence in women’s singles ace Chen Yufei’s ability to overcome setbacks. The team, a mix of youth and experience, plans to conclude its training camp in February, with preparations for the Paris Olympics against competitors from South Korea, Japan, France, and Denmark. Badminton events in Paris are scheduled from July 27 to August 5, 2024.
