Chinese President Xi Jinping said China is ready to strengthen its friendship and cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries. He made the statement during a major meeting of the China-CELAC Forum held in Beijing.
Xi said China and LAC countries should support each other on important national matters and work together on big international and regional issues. He also stressed the importance of staying united under the United Nations and international law.
Over the next three years, China will invite 300 political leaders from CELAC countries to visit China each year to share ideas about governance. Xi said China is committed to working with LAC nations on development, keeping global trade systems fair, and ensuring smooth supply chains.
China also hopes to partner with the region in traditional industries like farming, energy, and infrastructure. At the same time, it plans to expand work in new areas like clean energy, 5G, digital economy, and artificial intelligence. Xi said China will import more quality products from the region and support Chinese businesses investing there.
